This Week in Sports Trivia: May 14, 2026
Four years ago, Jacob Misiorowski was grinding away at a junior college on the edge of the Ozarks. Now, he’s blowing away major league hitters and setting velocity records in the process. The 24-year-old Milwaukee Brewers starter was an All-Star as a rookie last season and just keeps getting better.
Through eight starts, he has a 2. 45 ERA and has struck out 70 batters in 44 innings. And then there’s the aforementioned velocity.
His fastball is topping 100 mph with regularity, to the point where he set a Statcast-era record in a win over the New York Yankees on Friday. You can learn a lot more about Misiorowski by reading this feature by Cody Stavenhagen. It’s not only a great read but might help a tiny bit with this week’s quiz.
We’ll touch on a bunch of other topics, too, however, so don’t assume this will be an easy one! Enjoy, and take a shot at our daily Connections: Sports Edition while you’re at it .
