The Poland international has been linked with several clubs as he heads towards the end of his contract, with Porto rumored to be interested in the last few days.

Villas-Boas was asked about the possibility of signing Lewandowski and insists it’s a transfer they simply can’t afford. “For us, it’s a source of pride that FC Porto is associated with a football legend like Lewandowski. Obviously, as you can imagine, the financial burden of that magnitude is beyond FC Porto’s reach,” he told reporters.

“So, that’s the first thing that seems clear to me. Obviously, we have three Polish players in the team, they are our main attraction at the moment, but Lewandowski is completely beyond FC Porto’s financial capabilities. ” The current speculation claims that Lewandowski will leave Barcelona when his contract expires and may well head to the Saudi Pro League.
