The New York Yankees have had some of the greatest players in Major League Baseball history suit up in pinstripes.

There's a reason the Yankees are viewed as the most historic franchise not just in Major League Baseball, but in all of sports. All they've done is win throughout much of their existence, and the star-studded players are the reason why. However, while the Yankees might not be as star-studded as they once were, there are still a lot of very good players in New York right now.

One of them making a massive name for himself at the moment is Ben Rice. Rice has yet to do anything that suggests that he's going to be an all-time great in New York just yet, but there's a lot of reason to like what he's done offensively. So much so that Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez actually compared him to another Yankees great in Don Mattingly.

“When you look at this roster and you look at some of the late 90’s rosters, they start resembling each other… Rice is hopefully the modern-day Don Mattingly. This kid can really, really hit,” he said, H/T Heavy . I always hate to say that any modern player plays anything like those guys back in the day, but if Rice somehow has the career that Mattingly had, I think we'd all take it, right?
