What's new with Acuna?

Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr update is far from ideal, but it isn’t bad for Atlanta originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . It's very impressive that the Atlanta Braves have played the type of baseball they have to start the season, and when we factor in all of the injuries they've dealt with on both sides of the ball, it's almost insane to think that they've been the best team in the National League by a somewhat wide margin at 30-13.

The Braves also have the best record in baseball, and they have done so in a dominating fashion. Some injuries are much bigger issues than anything else because of who they are, and one of those is Ronald Acuna Jr. Unfortunately for Acuna, he's dealt with some tough injuries over the past few years, and another one came up with his latest hamstring problem.

Speaking to reporters about when he could return, skipper Walt Weiss didn't sound like he believes there's a great chance of him returning anytime in the immediate future. “Walt Weiss says Ronald Acuña Jr. is still “a ways out.

” Says he is progressing but still some time before we see him,” Aaron Schmidt wrote on X. I don't want to say that the Braves need him right now to be the team they're looking to be, as that obviously hasn't been the case. However, if Atlanta wants to win in October when it matters most, having Acuna around will be just as important as any other player on the roster.
