🤯 ā€˜Labubus’ on the shirts: PSG jumps on TikTok trend?! PSG, already confirmed as a Champions League finalist, mathematically secured the French league title yesterday with an away win over closest challenger Lens. Of course, the occasion called for a very special jersey.

But what the French capital club came up with left some observers — well, let’s just say: surprised. By now, everyone probably knows them — whether they want to or not: Labubus. The soft, furry, grinning plush toys have not only taken over social media in recent years, but have also become a common sight in everyday life, usually hanging from bags or backpacks.

Now that the hype online is already starting to fade, PSG apparently thought it couldn’t let the trend pass by unused. So the club decided to wear a ā€œNight Editionā€ shirt featuring the famous plush toy brand Labubu for last night’s high-profile clash against Lens. An image of the cheeky plush toys appeared on the back number of every player.

ā€œThis initiative underlines the club’s desire to strengthen its positioning at the intersection of sport, fashion and contemporary culture,ā€ PSG said in a statement. From a sporting perspective, the special jersey certainly did no harm. In fact, it became the outfit in which the club officially crowned itself champion.

Whether it’s stylish or not — opinions will naturally differ. What do you think of the ā€œLabubu lookā€? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
