The Boston Red Sox have been linked to just about every first baseman in Major League Baseball over the past year and a half, though they went out this offseason and made an impressive move for first baseman Willson Contreras.

It remains uncertain if the Red Sox view him as the long-term option at the position, though he's getting older in his career and it might not be the worst idea to go after somebody else. One name that popped up a ton was Houston Astros first baseman, Christian Walker. Walker and Isaac Paredes have both been names that the Red Sox could go after, with Paredes being the top of the bunch because of the obvious need for a third baseman in Boston.

While the fit is there, it doesn't sound like the Red Sox are the only team interested in Paredes, with the latest report suggesting multiple teams are interested in the Astros slugger. โ€œIf Houston decides to sell, Christian Walker and Isaac Paredes are potential trade candidates. Walker, 35, has been much better in his second season in Houston and is hitting .
