Holland Christian basketball players Titus Spencer, Jake Holcomb commit
Check out where two of the top high school basketball players in the Holland area are headed next year.
Holland Christian basketball player Titus Spencer has committed to play at Cornerstone University next year. Spencer was named first-team all-state by the Michigan Sportswriters and Holland Sentinel Player of the Year. The guard averaged 20 points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists per game.
He reached 1,000 career points during a season that saw him lead the Maroons to the Division 2 regional finals after winning districts. "Titus is the most impactful player I have every coached," Holland Christian coach Brad Jansen said. "His ability to change the game on the defensive and offensive side of the ball in a instant is like no one other.
" Cornerstone is an NAIA program in Grand Rapids. Meanwhile, Spencer's teammate Jake Holcomb made his commitment official to Trine University. Holcomb was an all-conference forward who averaged 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals per game.
"Jake is the scoring option that every coach wants. He can play at all three levels, shoots the 3-pointer, can elevate above the rim and can post you up. He is a true triple threat," Jansen said.
