Pistons or Cavs to start Eastern final Sunday or Tuesday
The NBA announced the playoff schedule for the Conference Finals on Wednesday night. If the Pistons beat the Cavaliers in six games, they would open the final against the New York Knicks on Sunday, May 17 at Little Caesars Arena. If the Pistons win in seven games, they would open against the Knicks on Tuesday, May 19 at LCA.
The Cavaliers are in the same playoff situation if they win in six or seven games. The Eastern Conference Finals on ESPN or ABC will be played on: May 17, 19, 23, 25, 27*, 29*, 31* if DET-CLE ends in 6 games, or May 19, 21, 23, 25, 27*, 29*, 31* if DET-CLE ends in 7 games The Western Conference Finals on NBC/Peacock will be played on: May 18, 20, 22, 24, 26*, 28*, 30* if SAS-MIN ends in 6 games, or May 20, 22, 24, 26, 28*, 30*, June 1* if SAS-MIN ends in 7 games.
