The Miami Dolphins made De'Von Achane one of the highest-paid running backs in the NFL with a $68 million extension. They'll build around him.

MIAMI GARDENS ― The Miami Dolphins have a four-year extension agreement with running back De'Von Achane , according to a league source. The deal is for four years, $68 million, with $32 million guaranteed, a league source confirmed. Jets running back Breece Hall recently got a three year deal worth up to $45.

5 million. Achane, 24, was the Dolphins ' only Pro Bowler last season. Achane had 1,350 rushing yards and 488 receiving yards.

The Dolphins plan to run even more under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley . Achane is the first major player new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has extended. He has said he would also like center Aaron Brewer and linebacker Jordyn Brooks to be a part of the team's future core.

Achane was a third-round pick out of Texas A&M. Even though he's only 5-foot-9, 191 pounds, Achane is strong and tough and unafraid to run inside or take big hits. Some have compared Achane to former NFL star Warrick Dunn.
