Sean Strickland is just one of 11 fighters facing an indefinite layoff following UFC 328 . The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board recently released a full list of medical suspensions from this past Saturdayโs event, which took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N. J.
Strickland defeated Khamzat Chimaev via split decision to claim the middleweight title in UFC 328 headliner. Strickland, who recently revealed a list of shoulder-related injuries, is suspended indefinitely pending orthopedist clearance of his left hand. At a minimum he is suspended 45 days with 30 days of no contact.
Chimaev emerged relatively healthy, as he received a 45 day term with 30 days of no contact. Meanwhile, co-main event combatants Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira both received indefinite suspensions following their flyweight title bout, which Van won via fifth-round TKO. Van requires clearance of his left hand before he can return to action, while Taira needs a CT scan.
