Could Lions wear new Nike unis vs. Bears on Thanksgiving?
Would Thanksgiving against the Bears be the perfect opportunity for the Lions to bust out their new Nike uniforms?
Another Detroit Lions scheduling domino dropped on Wednesday afternoon. Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Lions are hosting the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving . It will be the second time in three seasons that the Lions have hosted the Bears on Thanksgiving.
Detroit topped Chicago, 23-20, on Thanksgiving in 2024 behind a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Jared Goff. The Lions' Thanksgiving matchup against the Bears could also be the perfect opportunity to bust out their new Nike Rivalries uniforms . While the uniforms have yet to be revealed, Lions president and CEO Rod Wood confirmed that Detroit is one of the teams getting them in 2026.
The Lions can wear the new Nike Rivalries uniforms once per season and it must be at home versus a division opponent. Wood had said that the Lions would wait to choose who they would wear the new alternate uniforms against until after they saw their full 2026 schedule. "Yeah, we're the second year of the Rivalry uniforms, so if you watched last year, two divisions wore them.
You get to wear them once at a home game against one of your division opponents. And so, once the schedule comes out in May and we know who we're playing at what games and primetime versus Sunday afternoon, we'll sit down and figure out the best time to unveil them. "I'm pretty excited about them.
