Ex-UFC champion Jack Della Maddalena speaks out on Carlos Prates loss
Jack Della Maddalena won't shy away from taking on the toughest challenges. Della Maddalena (18-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) was finished by Carlos Prates in the UFC Fight Night 275 main event earlier this month at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia. The former UFC welterweight champion had no answer on the feet for Prates (24-7 MMA, 7-1 UFC), who eventually broke him down with leg kicks and stopped him by third-round TKO.
Now on a losing skid for the first time since starting his pro career in 2016, Della Maddalena released a statement on Instagram addressing the setback. "Thanks for all the love and support. I could not be prouder to represent my gym @scrappy_mma_and_fitness , my family, my city and country.
Not the desired result this time around but it was in line with the desired challenge; fighting the most vicious and toughest opponents. " View this post on Instagram
