Yahoo Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers removed Shohei Ohtani from their lineup for his start against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. Ohtani recorded two hits in Tuesday’s loss to the Giants and finally broke his 11-game home run drought in the process. His efforts didn’t quite get the job done, though, as the rest of the Dodgers’ offense continued to struggle.

They lost the game by a score of 6-2 , and will look to avoid a series sweep against their divisional opponent. The right-hander has been one of the Dodgers’ most effective pitchers altogether, posting a 0. 97 ERA through his first six starts of the season. All six of his appearances this year have counted as quality starts, and he has struck out 42 batters in his 37 innings pitched this season.

Who Is in the Dodgers’ Lineup? Shortstop Mookie Betts steps into the leadoff spot due to Ohtani’s absence, and catcher Will Smith moves up to the No. 2 spot against a left-hander.
