Lavonte David intercepted plenty of quarterbacks, but the retired Buccaneers linebacker never got his hands on a pass from Saints great Drew Brees.

Terron Armstead has been on a heater in his turn from playing Pro Bowl-quality football to interviewing his fellow NFL stars. The former New Orleans Saints left tackle got some great material out of his old teammates Alvin Kamara and Cesar Ruiz , and now he's shared an insightful conversation with Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, one of the most underrated players of his generation . David sat down with his longtime rival for an interview on Armstead's The Set podcast and YouTube show and opened up about the respect he keeps for Drew Brees.

"You had to be on point on everything you do," David said. "Can't slip up, can't make no false steps. You had to damn near play a perfect game.

For me, being a linebacker, I loved it. Drew was the only quarterback in our division I didn't intercept. That was always a challenge for me, to try to get him especially in the passing game.

Just the battles, bro. " David was a rare talent, as he said, especially in the passing game. He was credited with 15 interceptions in his career, including takeaways against NFC South quarterbacks Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, and Kirk Cousins.
