Playing for Oklahoma State University, he would battle injury after injury and did not see the mound as much as he would have liked. One of those injuries would be breaking his collarbone during an unfortunate fishing incident, and he also battled some later shoulder issues that kept him off the field. All in all, Davis was only able to compete as he would have hoped, which did not help his draft stock.
However, that did not hurt his chances of seeing his name get drafted during the 2025 MLB Draft.
