Saints sign son of genetic freak, math genius and WWE legend to play WR
Brock Rechsteiner's got a 141 and 2/3rds chance of making the New Orleans roster.
The New Orleans Saints have a new wide receiver on their roster -- and he's the son of wrestling royalty. On Tuesday, the Saints signed undrafted rookie and former Jacksonville State wideout Brock Rechsteiner to the 90-man roster, giving him a chance to compete for reps through training camp and the preseason. That alone wouldn't be worthy of a breakout post.
Rechsteiner was a role player for a Conference USA team , recording 52 receptions his final two seasons as a Gamecock. He attended a rookie minicamp with the target-needy Tennessee Titans before eventually landing in New Orleans. But Rechsteiner is no normal undrafted free agent.
When you're up against him for a roster spot, your chances of winning drastic go down. You see, Rechsteiner is the son of WWE Hall of Famer, legendary promo artist and amateur mathematician Scott Steiner. This Scott Steiner: Rechsteiner isn't the only member of the family to have carved out a niche in college football.
Bronson Rechsteiner, son of Scott's brother and tag team partner Rick Steiner, was a dynamic (and muscled-out) running back at Kennesaw State. He's now a WWE fixture under the ring name Bron Breakker (don't ask, there is no satisfactory explanation for this). Brock aims to eventually make the move to pro wrestling; he had an NIL deal with WWE and has leaned into his roots on social media .
