Who is the Taunton Daily Gazette Girls Athlete of the Week for May 4-10

Another week of the spring high school sports season has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area. Last week , Taunton softball came out on top in a back-and-forth Hockomock Kelley-Rex and MIAA Division 1 clash with Attleboro while a pair of Taunton throwers took home top spots at the Weston Twilight Invitational. Dighton-Rehoboth lacrosse scored its biggest-ever win over rivals Somerset Berkley and first win in its first game ever against fellow SCC foes Case while a Bristol-Plymouth lacrosse player reached a career milestone with a double digit goal total against Bristol Aggie.

Bristol Aggie softball continued its Mayflower Small dominance while Bridgewater-Raynham, Bristol-Plymouth and Dighton-Rehoboth softball all scored strong wins and both Bridgewater-Raynham and Dighton-Rehoboth track and field had winners at the MSTCA Lou Tozzi Twilight Freshman Sophomore Invitational. The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Girls Athlete of the Week for April 27-May 3 is Bridgewater-Raynham softball's Maddie Morelli, receiving 57% of the vote. Bristol Aggie softball's Autumn Nicholson came in second with 36% while Taunton track and field's Max Cassinelli received 4% to finish third.
