What if that journey comes to a screeching thud before they hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy, though? Maybe it means the Knicks would take a big swing at an improvement. That big swing could look like LeBron James.

Sports talk host Nick Wright believes that there's a path for the Knicks to get LeBron, and he believes it also involves Mikal Bridges. "Say the Knicks make the NBA finals and just get waxed in the finals, lose in five and it's bad, then I do think a LeBron-Mikal Bridges sign & trade could make a lot of sense for a lot of people," Wright said in an appearance on Wednesday with Bomani Jones. Instead of losing James for nothing, they'd get a bit of value back for him while also making it slightly easier for a team like the Knicks to end up with the player they want. For James, it'd be a cool final chapter in the NBA. A full season of King James taking the floor in Madison Square Garden would be pretty awesome.
