Tad Boyle promotes Tyson Gilbert to replace longtime assistant
Colorado basketball promoted a young graduate assistant to coach after Mike Rohn's departure, adding another young voice to Tad Boyle's staff.
Colorado 's men's basketball team lost longtime Tad Boyle assistant Mike Rohn to Kansas City, and now Boyle has found a replacement. Tyson Gilbert is being promoted to assistant coach/quality control analyst and has two seasons as a graduate assistant. "These past two years I've learned a ton and have been able to just grow as a coach and more importantly as a person," Gilbert said.
"I'd like to thank coach Boyle and the entire staff for allowing me to grow. I'm extremely excited for the future in this role. " Gilbert becomes one of the youngest coaches on staff, having played college ball just two years ago, and that experience is vital for a relatively young roster.
According to Boyle, that is a big reason why he got the new gig. Tyson Gilbert has been elevated to Assistant Coach ๐ฆฌ ๐๏ธ ยป https://t. co/aAPUXvCMzC pic.
