WR Malachi Fields rookie fantasy outlook and impact on WR teammates
The Giants selected WR Malachi Fields in the third round of the NFL draft. What is his 2026 fantasy outlook, and how might he impact his WR teammates?
The New York Giants selected WR Malachi Fields in the third round of the NFL draft. What is his realistic 2026 fantasy outlook, and how might his presence impact Malik Nabers, Darnell Mooney, and Darius Slayton? Among allegedly undraftable fantasy wideouts, one of the most important depth chart battles this summer will be in New York.
Currently, the fantasy market doesnโt really know who will be the #2 behind Malik Nabers. Mooney leads all other wideouts with a WR73 ADP. Fields lags behind at WR94, while Slayton is at WR106.
I think the market is whiffing on what probably should be an easier decision. Mooney is a volume-reliant receiver whose catch rate bottomed out last season at 44. 4%, thanks in part to a career-high drop rate and career-low broken-tackle rate.
Managers might still reminisce about his 2021 breakout. But in this offense, he might not exceed 35 receptions, and that assumes he plays well enough in camp to secure a starting job. Slayton has been one of the most solid backup wideouts of the past decade.
