Clemson football lands Texas State defensive lineman transfer
Clemson has been stacking talent from the transfer portal on the defensive side of the ball, landing a Texas State defensive lineman.
Clemson football has added another piece to the defensive front through the transfer portal on Tuesday, landing a commitment from defensive lineman Devarrick Woods. The former Texas State defender announced his decision after also drawing interest from Florida State, Florida, NC State and Colorado during the process. He made a strong decision joining the Tigers .
Woods appeared in 11 games last season at Texas State, finishing with 16 tackles and one sack. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive tackle was granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA this spring after previous stops at Hinds Community College and Texas State. According to PFF, Woods posted a 74.
2 overall grade across 177 snaps in 2025. His strongest category came as a tackler, where he earned an 80. 9 grade, while also recording marks of 70.
8 against the run and 66. 3 as a pass rusher. Before arriving at Texas State, Woods put together a productive junior college career at Hinds Community College.
