Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan did not surrender. Battling through Tommy John surgery and related nerve tissue issues, spanning parts of 2024 and '25, McClanahan endured 972 days between MLB appearances. The 29-year-old left-hander has returned with a vengeance and continues picking on the Toronto Blue Jays .

As if his 5. 2 shutout innings at home last Wednesday weren't enough, McClanahan followed up the effort with another five scoreless innings Tuesday night at Rogers Center. "I am pretty pleased with my progression," he told Forbes .
