Pablo Fornals fired Real Betis into next season's Champions League as they beat 10-man Elche to claim a top-five LaLiga finish. Cucho Hernandez's ninth-minute opener got Betis off to the perfect start, but Hector Fort's 41st-minute strike ensured it was all square at the break. However, Elche were dealt a major blow four minutes after the restart when defender Leo Petrot was sent off for a challenge on Antony and the hosts took full advantage when Fornals blasted them to a 2-1 win.

Ademola Lookman and Alexander Sorloth edged 10-man Atletico Madrid to victory at Osasuna as they closed the gap on third-placed Villarreal to three points. Lookman's first-half penalty and a second-half header from Sorloth secured a 2-1 win at Estadio El Sadar to cement their side in fourth and keep alive their hopes of reining in the Yellow Submarine. Atleti's Marcos Llorente was sent off for a second bookable offence with 11 minutes remaining and Kike Barja pulled one back at the death, but Diego Simeone's men saw out time to claim the points.

Substitute Roger Brugue dragged Levante out of the relegation zone on goal difference as they ended Celta Vigo's Champions League hopes with a 3-2 win at Estadio Abanca-Balaidos. Ferran Jutgla fired Celta into a fourth-minute lead, but Kervin Arriaga levelled from distance as the half-time whistle approached, only for Jutgla to restore the hosts' lead within three minutes of the restart. However, Adrian de la Fuente restored parity after the break before Brugue headed the visitors to victory.
