The Boston Red Sox lost another game in frustrating fashion on Tuesday, dropping their series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth with two runners on and one out, only to strand the tying and winning runs on base. The loss dropped Boston to 17-24 this season, including 7-13 at home. The Red Sox haven't been able to buy a win at Fenway recently, losing 10 of their last 13 games there.
