Colorado football offers talented 2028 QB after breakout season

•Yahoo Sports

Colorado football is already planning for its next signal caller, offering a 2028 Florida quarterback.

While freshman quarterback Julian Lewis will take the reins as the Colorado Buffaloes signal caller for years to come, it's never too early to start looking for the future. At least that's exactly what Deion Sanders and his coaching staff are doing, making an offer to 2028 quarterback Hudson West on Tuesday afternoon. Out of Sarasota High School, West is already a physical freak as a sophomore, standing tall at 6-foot-5 and 180 pounds, and has offers from some of the top Power 4 schools in the nation, like Florida State.

In his sophomore season, West threw for 2,549 yards and 22 touchdowns, averaging 258 yards per game. West's passing yards were the most in 7A for his district and ranked No. 11 in the entire state of Florida.

West has impressed at 7-on-7 camps across the nation and has made several visits, including to SMU, Auburn and Maryland, this past winter. Colorado's offer is one in a slew of offers heading his way, meaning the Buffs will have to be aggressive if they hope to land West for their 2028 class. Currently, Colorado has a quarterback commit in the 2027 class in four-star Andre Adams .

Adams has been heavily recruiting others to join him in Boulder. I am blessed to receive an offer from @CUBuffsFootball . Thank you @CoachBox6 for your time and conversation!
