Strasbourg to sign Portugal youth international Diogo Sousa Gary O’Neil called for a rebuild following RC Strasbourg Alsace’s draw against SCO Angers over the weekend, and it is set to begin with the signing of a Portugal youth international, as per a report from L’Équipe . It has been an underwhelming and turbulent season for Strasbourg, who made a managerial change midseason and, despite reaching the semi-finals of both cup competitions, will not only end the season without a trophy but will also miss out on all forms of European football for next season. The rebuild has begun.
Strasbourg expect to lose Valentín Barco, heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, whilst the club will not exercise the right to make Rafael Luis’ loan from Benfica permanent. Instead, the club are set to sign Portugal youth international Diogo Sousa (20), L’Équipe understands. Sousa is set to join from Vitoria Guimaraes in a deal worth €10m (without bonuses).
