They're making their mark this spring. The 34 candidates for the 2026 Fans Baseball Midseason Player of the Year are putting on a show in MetroWest.
Now's as good a time as any for an all-star break. The stretch run of the Massachusetts high school softball season is fast approaching. Teams are jostling for seeding in the power rankings and playoff positions.
Now we can look back and assess the first half of the season and introduce the candidates for the 2026 Daily News Fans Midseason Softball Player of the Year. Candidates were pulled from our player of the week nominations so far this spring. The poll will remain open for a week until noon Wednesday, May 21.
