Ohtani Homers But Dodgers Drop Fourth Straight
Despite Shohei Ohtani breaking his home run skid, it wasn't enough as the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the San Francisco Giants.
Make that four straight losses for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Despite Shohei Ohtani finally getting out of his home run funk, the offense continues to disappear as the San Francisco Giants took Tuesday's contest by a 6-2 final. Yoshinobu Yamamoto Goes Six Innings, Gives Up Three Home Runs Yoshinobu Yamamoto had yet to earn a win against the Giants in six starts against the division rival.
Tuesday's outing proved to be no different. The right-hander retired the first eight batters he faced with ease until he faced off against Giants backup catcher Eric Haase. Haase hit the first of two home runs off Yamamoto to tie the ballgame 1-1 in the third inning.
The Giants' bottom of the order jumped on Yamamoto in the fifth as Harrison Bader hit the second long ball of the game for San Francisco. Haase followed that up with his second home run of the game. That was the first time in his short MLB career that Yamamoto has given up three home runs in an outing.
