Oliver Dunn followed with a laser to right, clearing the bases for a 3-0 jumpstart. Unfortunately, that cushion evaporated instantly.
The Tides teed off on Duncan Davitt for three in the second, running him out of the game before he could finish the second inning. But the Knights (19-21) had a little more juice in the second, although it wouldn’t be enough to capture the W. Caden Connor uncorked a solo shot, and Kyle Teel — fresh off the IL — launched a two-run bomb in his first rehab start.
Good to see KT back on the dirt, and suddenly, it was 6-3 Charlotte. Then came the unraveling. Norfolk battered Brandon Eisert for four in the third, snatching the lead and never looking back.
