Marlins begin postseason run as nation’s only unbeaten team
The Virginia Wesleyan Marlins enter the NCAA Regionals as the nation’s only undefeated softball team and carry historic momentum into postseason play. Virginia Wesleyan Marlins softball completed the first undefeated regular season in program history and will make its 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend. The Marlins earned the No.
1 seed in their regional bracket and will host the four-team NCAA Regional round in Virginia Beach. Their postseason journey begins Thursday against No. 4 seed John Jay Bloodhounds softball.
Virginia Wesleyan enters the tournament with unfinished business after advancing to the national championship series last season before finishing as the national runner-up to Trine Thunder softball.
