PETERSBURG, Ind. (WEHT) — It’s not a lead to say this sport isn’t for everyone. “You have to be a little crazy to be that high for sure,” Pike Central track and field head coach Chris Kramer said.
But Grant Boyd is wired to fly higher than anyone in Pike Central track and field history. “When you get to higher heights in pole vault, to get everything to come together, it’s a really cool thing to experience and see,” Kramer said. The Chargers haven’t seen anything like this.
Grant has set and broken Pike Central’s pole vault record three separate times now. His ambition to keep climbing, is one that’s grounded. “I just want to be better than my brothers at this,” Boyd said.
