Owensboro football receives state championship rings
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — The Owensboro Red Devils celebrated their first state championship in 39 years with personalized rings for every player and coach. The Red Devils won the 5A state title with a 35-7 victory over Pulaski County.
The new championship bling comes equipped with each player’s name, number, and position engraved on the ring. It also includes the team’s record and final score of the championship game. “I saw of picture of it in the paper and I said, ‘Yeah,” senior linebacker Eli Hampton said.
“It’s beautiful man I love it. It’s got our name and number on it, it’s super personalized and that’s very special. ” “We earned them 100%,” junior linebacker Ty Ashley said.
“We took two hard loses at the beginning of the season and after that we got together as teammates and said, ‘We are going to turn things around and we are going to get us one of these [ring]. ’ Today the emotions were high. ” Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
