Gore's Strong Start Lifts Rangers Past D-Backs
MacKenzie Gore threw a career-high eight innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five, in a 7-4 Texas Rangers win.
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Following a bullpen day, the Texas Rangers needed length from starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore in Tuesday night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks . However, even Gore himself didn’t expect to turn in the kind of performance he did on Tuesday night at Globe Life Field. Gore threw a career-high eight innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five, in a 7-4 Rangers win.
“We were able to get some early contact and make some plays early,” Gore said after the game. “It was good timing for us to go eight innings today. “I wanna go deep in every game,” Gore added.
“With the way things have gone the past few outings, there’s been a lot of work to try to get better. Did I think I was going to go eight innings tonight? Not necessarily, but it was good timing for it, and I felt good.
” Pitching wasn’t the only thing the Rangers did well tonight as the Texas offense produced seven runs just 24 hours after being shut out. The Rangers' seven runs and 11 hits were both season highs at Globe Life Field this season. Tuesday night marked just the third time Texas has hit multiple home runs in Arlington this season.
