Zimbabwe Names Squad for Unity Cup

Zimbabwe's national football team announces its squad for the Unity Cup. Established internationals and rising stars from English leagues lead the way, including a return of Marshall Munetsi after missing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury.

Kaitano Tembo, the new coach of Zimbabwe's national football team, has unveiled a 23-man squad ahead of the upcoming Unity Cup invitational tournament that will be held in London from May 26 to 30. The squad features established internationals and rising stars drawn from various English leagues. Notably, the return of Marshall Munetsi, a French-based midfielder who recently missed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury, adds depth to the team.

Other key additions include Jordan Zemura, a defender making his national debut after more than a year away from the squad, and Tino Kadewere, known for scoring goals. The squad includes players such as Marley Tavaziva (Hibernian F. C.

), Corbin Mthunzi (Ipswich Town F. C. ), and Emmanuel Jalai (Durban City FC), who join the national team for the first time since 2023.

The midfield also features Mongameli Tshuma, Marvelous Nakamba, and Aboubacar Moffat. Defenders include Tawanda Maswanhise of Motherwell FC and Senior Zindoga from TS Galaxy, while attackers like Bill Antonio of KV Mechelen and Daniel Msendami from Orlando Pirates are part of the squad. The team will face Nigeria in a semi-final match on May 26 at The Valley in South London.
