Eagles' Makai Lemon Continues to Get WR2 Praise

Yahoo Sports

Among the many impressive moves that the Philadelphia Eagles and Howie Roseman have made during the offseason, perhaps drafting Makai Lemon isn't even being spoken about enough as it should be. Lemon does a lot of good things on and off the field and seems like somebody who should be in Philadelphia for a very long time, making plays at an extremely high level. With the expectation that AJ Brown is going to be traded after June 1, whether that's to the New England Patriots or another team, Lemon is also coming into a really good situation.

He should have a chance to be the WR2 behind DeVonta Smith, meaning that he probably has a real chance to get a ton of snaps in his rookie season and beyond, so long as the front office doesn't go out and make a big deal for another star wide receiver after moving on from Brown. It's still early and he has a lot to prove throughout his NFL career, obviously, but people who have been at practice in Philadelphia are coming away very impressed with what he's been able to do as a pass catcher. According to the latest, he was even the most advanced route runner at the position.

"Makai Lemon is a smooth operator man," Andrew DiCecco said on 97. 5 The Fanatic. "Very elegant and precise in his movements.

Razor sharp with his route-running. Now context is important here because they're running routes on air. At least the portion of practice that was open to us, but he stood apart and led the drills.

It was presided over by wide receivers coach Aaron Moorehead and he was far and away the most advanced when it came to the route-running aspect of the position. " Lemon definitely has some questions coming out of college, but landing in Philadelphia should help his career a ton. He's the type of guy who will benefit a lot from playing in a proven offensive system.
