Warriors officially re-sign head coach Steve Kerr to two-year deal
After a long deliberation process, Steve Kerr is back for two more seasons as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors' public relations team released a statement Tuesday afternoon, announcing that they've officially re-signed head coach Steve Kerr to a two-year contract. โWeโre thrilled that Steveโs tenure with the Warriors will continue,โ said Warriors General Manager Mike Dunleavy. โHis impact on our franchise has been enormous, well beyond the championships and incredible on-court success.
The character and leadership that he exudes each day helps set the tone for what we hope our franchise represents both now and in the future. โ With four championship titles as a coach and a 604-353 record, Kerr is the winningest coach in franchise history. Not to mention, he's been given credit for developing Hall of Fame caliber talent in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
If Kerr were to win another championship with the franchise in his final two seasons, he'd move into a tie for third place on the all-time coaches list, tying Pat Riley, Gregg Popovich, and Johnny Kundla with five. Only Phil Jackson (11) and Red Auerbach (9) have more. This article originally appeared on Warriors Wire: Warriors officially re-sign head coach Steve Kerr to two-year deal
