Bob Myers addresses Philly fans after taking new role with 76ers
After 12 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, Bob Myers is back in an NBA front office, this time as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Former Warriors general manager and president Bob Myers took a new role Tuesday evening, agreeing to oversee basketball operations of the Philadelphia 76ers until they find a suitable replacement. Myers will take over in an interim role after the team parted ways with Daryl Morey. Following Morey's dismissal, Myers spoke to the media about his new responsibilities.
โI know how much the 76ers mean to the City of Philadelphia, and itโs important we find the right leader to shape the future of this team,โ Myers told the Philly Voice. โThe process will start immediately, and we will be thorough and deliberate in our evaluations. I believe this is a destination for top talent across the league and look forward to solidifying our infrastructure moving forward.
โ After building an all-time team that included the core backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Myers will now have the chance to build around another special backcourt in Philadelphia that includes Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
