New Palestine tight end Mason Oglesby will pick from four schools, sets decision date
New Palestine tight end Mason Oglesby will pick from four schools, make decision on May 23. Four-star prospect caught 34 passes for 5A state champs.
Mason Oglesby is down to four schools and has a date set for his announcement. Oglesby, a standout New Palestine tight end, said Tuesday he will choose from a final four of Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina and Ohio State. He plans to make his commitment announcement on May 23.
The 6-4, 220-pound Oglesby, rated as a four-star prospect on the 247sports national composite, caught 34 passes for 513 yards and six touchdowns as a junior for the Class 5A state champion Dragons. He also had 33 tackles, including seven for a loss, at outside linebacker. Oglesby has taken official visits this spring to three of those four schools: North Carolina, Indiana and Kansas.
Oglesby had previously listed a top six that included Purdue, USC and Missouri. He added Ohio State after receiving an offer in late February from the Buckeyes and took an unofficial visit to Columbus in April. Indiana currently has four high school commitments in the 2027 class.
Michigan City offensive tackle Jeremiah Jones is the lone in-state commit, though the Hoosiers are involved with several others, including five-star Lawrence North receiver Monshun Sales. Kansas had its entire staff in on Tuesday to see Oglesby and also extended an offer to sophomore defensive lineman Sam Hirschy. Call Star reporter Kyle Neddenriep at (317) 444-6649.
