Penn State lands elite RB prospect from Class of 2027

4-star running back Aiden Gibson held a livestream with 247Sports and CBS Sports tonight, where he committed to Penn State.

The 2026 season could be the first in a while where Penn State doesn’t have a star running back. There is certainly some talent at position, like four-star rushers Quinton Martin Jr. and James Peoples , but there are far more high-pedigree players who disappoint than those who live up to the expectations.

The Nittany Lions are optimistic about their running back room, as they should be, however they can’t be complacent with the talent they have. They’ve been operating in the exact opposite way, pursuing consensus four-star halfback Aiden Gibson for most of this year. The high school star narrowed his list down to five teams last month, leaving Louisville , UNC , Rutgers and South Carolina as the only teams left for Penn State to battle for his services.
