A host of Mid-Hudson gradates make the Region XV Div. II baseball all-star team.
A host of Mid-Hudson high school graduates were named to the All-Region XV Div. II baseball all-star team. Pawling High School grad Freddy Heymach, a sophomore infielder for SUNY Westchester, was named the player of the year.
He is currently batting . 512 (64-for-125) for the season, with six homers and 51 RBI. Westchester (24-16-1) captured the regular-season championship.
At the regional tournament this past weekend, the Vikings beat Orange 8-0, Rockland 18-10 and Ulster 18-6 to win the championship, advancing to the May 15-17 district tournament. Orange closed the season at 5-21, 4-11 within the conference. kmcmillan@th-record.
