Four-star RB Aiden Gibson commits to Penn State over South Carolina

Woodruff football's four-star junior running back Aiden Gibson committed to Matt Campbell and Penn State on May 12 over South Carolina and others, he announced at Tap Three in Woodruff. Gibson's top five schools were Penn State, Rutgers, North Carolina, Louisville, and South Carolina. His other offers include Tennessee , Maryland, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and UCF.
Gibson, a 6-foot-2 and 203-pound recruit, is ranked No. 7 in South Carolina for the 2027 class and the No. 23 running back in the country, according to 247Sports Composite.

But Woodruff's season came to an end in the Upper State finals in a 34-3 loss to Belton-Honea Path.
