The running back addressed the media about his new contract and made the case that he’s on the verge of a career year.

#Jets RB Breece Hall explains why he’s only going to get better: "I'm the only RB that's consistently a top 10 back in the league that hasn't in the past been in the most ideal situation. … I feel like now they really put me in position to flourish… This could be my best… https://t. co/DdkCmzd2kY pic.

twitter. com/ZP2HzRirhZ — Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) May 12, 2026 Hall has been a very good player thus far in his career. I personally think it’s tough for him to make the case that he has been a top ten back.

Maybe he looked like one in the early stages of his 2022 rookie season, but his campaign was cut short by a knee injury. I think there is a fair case to be made that Breece hasn’t been used in a way that gets the most out of his skills, however. The Jets have seemed to view him as a volume runner.

I think he might be better suited as the top end of a backfield platoon. I would like to see him used on a heavy diet of outside runs, designed touches in space, and receiving opportunities. And when the Jets do run him between the tackles, I would like to see them use gap concepts where he can get a head of steam heading into a predetermined hole.
