Oregon Ducks promote new GM, assistant GM ahead of 2026 season
The Oregon Ducks announced that they are promoting both Tyler Dean and Lydia Gibbs to general manager and assistant GM, respectively, ahead of 2026.
While the coaching staff in Eugene is set after spring football wrapped up last month, the Oregon Ducks are making some changes in the front office, promoting a pair of the most prominent figures behind the scenes on Dan Lanning's staff. On Tuesday afternoon, Oregon announced that Tyler Dean is officially being promoted to the general manager role with the Ducks , stepping up from his role as the director of scouting in 2025. Dean has been on Lanning's staff since 2022, starting as the director of player personnel before his promotion a year ago.
The Ducks are also promoting Lydia Gibbs to the role of assistant general manager, moving the rising star up the organizational chart. Gibbs has been on Oregon's staff since 2022 as well, coming to Eugene from a spot on Kirby Smart's staff with the Georgia Bulldogs , and starting as the director of on-campus recruiting. "Tyler and Lydia have earned these new opportunities through incredible hard work and relentless dedication to this program," Lanning said.
"They have been instrumental in the success we have had on the recruiting trail and in roster construction since they joined our staff. They are each going to thrive in their new roles and will continue to help the Ducks achieve at the highest levels both on and off the field.
