NFL analyst explains 1 wish the Dolphins should have for 2026 schedule
The Miami Dolphins will find out their schedule this week. Here's what one analyst believes they should be hoping for.
The Miami Dolphins finished their 2025 campaign with a 7-10 record and in third place in the AFC East, leading to the departures of both general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel. Now, heading into 2026 with Jon-Eric Sullivan leading the front office and Jeff Hafley leading the coaching staff, the Dolphins are resetting, going with several rookies and veterans on minimum deals in key roles. This week, Miami will finally learn when each of their 17 regular season games will take place this year, and while there are a few things that the team should be hoping for, CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo had one wish that the Dolphins are probably making for their schedule.
"The Dolphins possess the league's second-hardest strength of schedule," DeArdo wrote. "The NFL may feel compelled to put Miami's road game against the Packers on primetime, given the likely intrigue of Malik Willis and Jeff Hafley's return to Green Bay. If nothing else, Miami would undoubtedly prefer for that trip to be made sooner in the season rather than later.
" If we're being honest, the Dolphins don't have the most competitive roster in the league, so they'll be tested by most teams they play in 2026. It won't matter what time the game against Green Bay is, it will be tough. However, as DeArdo mentioned, avoiding Lambeau Field at night in the winter is preferable for a team coming from South Florida.
