NHL insider Frank Seravalli has reported that Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard played in the playoffs while dealing with a concussion. While there's no further insight into how the injury may have occurred, how bad it was or how much of the Oilers' playoff series Bouchard played with the injury, it's something that the NHL will view as unacceptable if it finds evidence of this. Concussions are the injury you can't really just "tough it out.

Edmonton's playoff run this season lasted just six games, a first-round loss to the Anaheim Ducks . Bouchard had a goal and six assists in that series, but he was a minus-7 while on the ice. The injury question may resurface for Bouchard at the IIHF World Championships, where he's suiting up for Canada.
