It’s that time of the year again for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and both Sophie Cunningham and Livvy Dunne will be included in the 2026 edition. Sports Illustrated made the announcement on Tuesday that both Dunne and Cunningham will be among the athletes featured in this year’s issue. Along with those two, WNBA superstar and Minnesota Lynx forward, Napheesa Collier, Team USA track and field gold medalist, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, rugby sevens superstar and two-time Olympian, Ilona Maher, and Paralympic silver medalist swimmer, Ali Truwit, are involved, also.
Cunningham, Collier and Jefferson-Wooden are all new to the SI Swimsuit Issue this year, while Dunne, Truwit and Maher have taken part before. The six athletes are included in a group of several women that will be photographed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The Fever guard was an unknown to the larger WNBA audience but quickly changed that when she defended Fever superstar Caitlin Clark last season, both verbally and physically. The physical part came when Cunningham exacted some retribution on a Connecticut Sun player who had fouled Clark hard during a game last season.
Cunningham also said anyone who didn’t view Clark as the face of the league is “literally dumb as f***. ” She quickly became a darling among Clark’s supporters and saw her social media following explode overnight. Now, she’s checking something off her bucket list by being in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
“It was so empowering and just so fun but being able to check that off my list,” Cunningham said. “That has been a huge bucket list goal and now I just feel so good about myself. ” Livvy Dunne returns again Apr 3, 2026; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA; Social media influencer Livvy Dunne in attendance after the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles at PNC Park.
