Texas A&M has reportedly canceled and early 2027 matchup vs. New Mexico on Sept. 18, and will look to find a replacement team soon.
Texas A&M's 2026 season is less than four months away, as the Aggies will host Missouri State on Saturday, September 5. However, for those already looking ahead to the 2027 season, it was reported, and confirmed by AggieYell insider Carter Karels , who spoke with Texas A&M AD Trev Alberts, that the Aggies have canceled their home football vs. New Mexico, which was set for Sept.
18, 2027. Before Alberts' confirmation of the cancellation, it was revealed that New Mexico was looking to replace this game with a trip to Lubbock (TX) to face Texas Tech on the same date, providing a smaller, yet equally challenging environment against one of the top programs in the country. Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and Trev Alberts will now be tasked with finding a replacement matchup for Sept.
18, knowing that the season opener vs. Texas State (Sept. 4) and a rematch vs.
