The No. 23 Weatherford College softball team wrapped up the regular season Saturday with two road victories over Cisco College, completing a 4‑game sweep and moving on to the postseason. The Coyotes will head to the Southwest District A Championship Wednesday through Friday, May 13-15, at Odessa College’s Wrangler Softball Complex.

WC, a four seed, will open against top-seeded Odessa, the No. 10-ranked team in the country. The Coyotes and the Wranglers will play at noon on Wednesday.

WC capped the regular season by breaking two team records, posting 24 triples to eclipse the previous mark of 22 and hitting 69 home runs to surpass the record of 66 that had stood since 2013. Weatherford (38-14 overall, 22-10 in conference) took the opener Saturday, 11‑2 in six innings, before finishing the sweep with a 10‑4 win in the nightcap. In game one, the Coyotes put the contest out of reach with consistent offense after a scoreless first inning.

Weatherford scored in four straight frames, highlighted by a five‑run fourth and three‑run fifth. Joni Jackson went 2-for-4 with a home run and double, while Aofia Noa finished 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Adeline Glatch added a 2‑run homer, and Alex Graham also homered as Weatherford produced four extra‑base hits.

Kaymie Chandler earned the win in the circle, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in six innings. She struck out two and walked one. Weatherford finished with 10 hits in the opener, while Cisco managed four.
