Michael van Gerwen is one of the greatest darts players to ever play the sport, but in recent years, his prime has been determined by many to have already passed.

During his prime, 2014-2019, he won numerous major titles and was dominant on the Pro Tour. Darts fans were able to get a taste of vintage MVG on Tuesday, as Mighty Mike showed up and played his best stuff at today's Players Championship event. He then played Beau Greaves in the quarterfinals, just a few weeks after Greaves won her first senior PDC event title. Greaves pressured MVG early in that match, but he was able to flip a switch in the second half and finished with an average of 102. 47 in a 6-2 win.
