In a press conference on Tuesday, Pelinka said that the Lakers and Reaves' camp have made it abundantly clear that they want to make things work as he enters free agency. "Both sides have made it abundantly clear that we want to work it out," Pelinka said . All signs point to the Lakers and Reaves getting a deal done; however, the details of the potential deal remain to be seen.

Austin Reaves positioned for massive payday Reaves has certainly set himself up for a massive payday. Rival executives and those around the league project the Arkansas native securing a deal as high as five years and between $239-$241 million to remain with the Lakers. The former undrafted guard could garner a salary of approximately $40 million per season.

Reaves and the Lakers want to build a partnership for the long run, and they have a chance to do that this summer. Reaves is set to enter this offseason as one of the top free agents. The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the top guards, improving drastically year in and year out.
